Dopo il continuo rincorrersi di voci, indiscrezioni più o meno confermate, abbiamo pensato che aprire un dibattito sull'argomento poteva essere un'interessante modo per approfondire e confrontarci su un tema così importante. Il soggetto, l'avrete tutti capito è l'ipotesi di ospitare in Italia i Mondiali Assoluti del 2013. Quello che vorremmo si riuscisse a fare, è confrontarsi portando le proprie esperienze, opinioni, timori e speranze riguardo l'argomento in oggetto.Di seguito andiamo a spiegare le modalità del dibattito:

Un'intera giornata, più di 100 diversi blogger che hanno letto il nostro post, un solo commento... E' evidente che molta gente ha ancora la mandibola che duole per l'amo cui tanti hanno abboccato lo scorso anno... :-) Quest'anno il nostro pesce d'aprile è stato un "non pesce d'aprile", infatti la FISO è seriamente intenzionata a richiedere i WOC 2013 e gli "studi di fattibilità" sono già avviati... Quindi niente paura e partecipate al nostro "improbabile forum"!!!

La progressione è abbastanza logica, i terreni ci sono, la capacità tecnica anche ... o forse ci sentiamo inferiori a UKR e JPN?
Diciamo che è una bella occasione con 4 anni di tempo per lavorare. I nostri avversari, come saprete, sono i miei amici di Vuokatti, ma in Finlandia ci siamo già stati 2 volte in 30 anni, in Italia mai.
Aggiungi pure i Mondiali Junior e quelli di Sci-O... Concordo sui terreni, li abbiamo. Concordo sulle capacità tecniche, le abbiamo. Concordo sul fatto che non siamo inferiori ad Ucraina e Giappone. Manca però un aspetto non trascurabile, il vile denaro... Le ultime esperienze in Italia e non solo (vedi Danimarca 2006) non sono state entusiasmanti dal punto di vista finanziario. E consideriamo che un budget necessario per un WOC non è paragonabile con quello dei MTBWOC, o di WMOC... Quindi mi chiedo se dal punto di vista economico saremmo in grado di organizzare un'edizione all'altezza degli standard qualitativi senza colsassare finanziariamente...
a me piacerebbe che si scegliesse un terreno peculiarmente Italiano.
Il trentino è alpino come altri terreni alpini ,quindi lo scarterei. Asiago, basta che si faccia sul monte ekar :)))))....a parte gli scherzi, ha una sua identità. L'appennino a me piace tantissimo perchè ha in sè dei terreni fantastici e diversi nel giro di poco spazio. Livata è eccezzionale ma forse troppo monotono rispetto ad altri posti dell'appennino. La Sila in calabria è troppo "svizzera" per essere in calabria ma è da urlo comunque. Sul gargano si guarda agli Wmoc quindi nisba. La sicilia avrebbe delle zone perfette (Etna su tutte).Poi certo oltre al luogo occorre pensare ad altre mille cose....ma tanto per parlare
Visto che si è in tema di location, a quanto ne so io, si stanno vagliando due possibili terreni
1) tornare a Monte Livata e alle carte della Coppa del Mondo
2) mettere insieme il meglio dell'Altopiano di Asiago, Lavarone, Folgaria etc...
Strano, ma sono daccordo con Cosimo... l'idea dei Mondiali Assoluti in Italia mi solletica, potrebbe essere il coronamento del lavoro organizzativo fatto in questi anni (come ricorda Stefano).
Mi lascia però dubbioso il piano di finanziamento dell'impresa, per due motivi:
- non possiamo contare sulle Quote di iscrizioni dei WMOC; se volessimo avere delle entrate consistenti da parte degli atleti bisognerebbe organizzare anche delle gare di contorno (come stanno facendo in Primiero), e sarebbe un altro impegno piuttosto dispendioso per quanto riguarda le risorse umane.
- il grosso dei finanziamenti dovrebbe quindi arrivare da parte delle istituzioni. Ma chi può garantire cifre così consistenti in questi tempi di crisi? Provincia, Regione, Ministero Turismo? E se anche stanziassero i soldi, quando arriverebbero (le Pubbliche Amministrazioni sono famose per pagare sempre in ritardo i loro fornitori / collaboratori)? Chi li anticiperebbe nel frattempo.
Ricordo ancora gli strascichi dei WMOC organizzati in Altipiano: pur essendo stati un successo dal punto di vista organizzativo, hanno lascito l'amaro in bocca dal punto di vista finanziario.
Per questo prima di lanciarci in questa eventuale impresa dobbiamo valutare bene le risorse che abbiamo a disposizione, e non trovarci a dover mettere delle toppe in corso d'opera.

Anche per me sarebbe fantastico avere i mondiali assoluti in Italia (magari con Michele Franco che arriva alla fine della staffetta con la celebre frase "go finio i mondiali", ma prima deve allenaersi per essere convocato :-)).
Sicuramente dal punto di vista tecnico/organizzativo siamo OK, ma purtroppo non penso che saremo in grado di garantirli da un punto di vista finanziario, neanche con una 5/6 giorni di contorno.
Bisognerebbe informarsi dal primiero/pavione com'è il bilancio economico, anche se loro hanno la fortuna di abbattere i costi di vitto e alloggio di gran parte degli organizzatori e i mondiali Junior hanno un costo nettamente inferiore.
Per le location, da quante ne so io oltre a quello citate da Cosim-o se ne sarebbero fatte avanti anche altre, anche se la candidatura è stata presentata e i delegati Iof sono gia venuti a farci visita sugli altipiani.
